The ultimate goal of the founders of SignOn was to establish a more efficient way to include members of the Deaf Community in the learning process of American Sign Language (ASL) and as a result to expose ASL learners to Deaf Culture. In essence, to establish a means of connecting ASL learners with the Deaf Community.

In essence, SignOn seeks to establish a means of connecting ASL learners with the Deaf Community.
At SignOn, we believe it is important to involve the Deaf Community in the process of learning ASL. Therefore for a wide variety of reasons. A sobering reality of current ASL programs is that they do not allow for a systematic, meaningful involvement with the population that actually uses this language. SignOn hopes to remedy this oversight by providing Deaf individuals with worthwhile work. While simultaneously expanding the options that ASL learners have to build connections within the Deaf culture.
SignOn’s proprietary online portal saves both time and energy for ASL Learners and members of the Deaf Community. Therefore It allows them to easily connect in the comfort of their own homes, or anywhere with high speed Internet. Therefore this convenience alleviates some of the natural tentativeness that is inherent in initial face-to-face meetings. while also respecting the busy schedules of everyone involved.

SignOn is available to anyone that has a sincere interest to improve their skills in American Sign Language. We strive to serve a wide variety of individuals, including students in grades K-12, students that are learning college level ASL material and the family members, friends and colleagues of Deaf individuals. We also work with companies that have a desire to better communicate with the Deaf Community.
A Deaf ASL Ambassador, will come into contact with a variety of individuals interested in learning American Sign Language. Although the majority of ASL Learners are expected to be hearing students learning the language. Deaf ASL Ambassadors should be ready to interact with family members, friends, colleagues— or members of the general public that might wish to engage with the Deaf Community. Therefore you might also interact with other deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals. They may have varying levels of familiarity with ASL while working with SignOn.
Deaf ASL Ambassadors
Deaf ASL Ambassadors are expected to insure that there is a balance of both expressive and receptive signing skills during the sessions, unless otherwise requested by the ASL Learner. We are constantly looking for confident, self-motivated and eager individuals. That want to work with both the hearing and Deaf Community. Therefore our goal is to assist anyone who wishes to learn and practice American Sign Language.
